Daddy Daughter road trip

Every year my dad goes to the LA Roadster show father's day weekend and this year I got to go with him. We drove to California in his baby a 1934 Ford Panel Van. He is a house painter and drives his car everyday for work.

We car pooled with a couple of other guys also going to the show.
My dad and I at the show in front of his panel van.

A line up of some of the cars.
There were over 2000 old cars there.
The potty cart. I am sitting on a toilet.
Here are a few cars I thought were cool.

Here are a couple of cool stroller rides for the kids. This one is made from a wheel barrel.

an old car. Too cute!
We had a lot of fun walking around the swap meet and seeing all the hot rods.

On the third day we drove to Huntington Beach to do some surfing. Only it was freezing and gloomy, so we left and went to La Jolla to kayak. Before we left we watched some surfers.

At La Jolla we went to the cave store. We walked down 145 stairs in a lighted tunnel to explore the famous Sunny Jim cave.

Then we rented some kayaks and went on a 2 hour tour of the 7 caves. I am so glad I started working out 7 weeks ago because rowing was tough, but I didn't get sore from it. We had such a great time. We saw some leopard sharks and seals. This was my first time in a kayak.

After we kayaked we ate some lunch and checked into our hotel. Then went out to do some sight seeing. We went to The first settlement in California, Old Town San Diego and saw some of the original buildings. The Mormon Battalion Museum is located there, but it was closed for remodeling. Then we went to a park by the harbour and took some pictures with some statues. After that we went to Coronado Island for some ice cream. Then we went to see a movie.

On Monday we drove home and my dad let me drive the panel van. It was so cool, you get a lot of attention driving it.
We had a wonderful trip and I am sad that it is over. I have the best dad in the whole world. I am happy and thankful I was able to spend father's day with him. Thank You mom and Kristy for watching my girls while we were away.
